Our latest release for you to enjoy over the bank holiday weekend. ... See MoreSee Less

2nd May is World Tuna Day; why not try some of our Ortiz tuna, or indeed any of the fabulous Ortiz range that we stock.

Conservas Ortiz has been processing tuna and anchovies in Cantabria and the Basque Country, on the northern coast of Spain, for more than 120 years. Their business is centred on rod and line caught Bonito tuna and anchovies from the Bay of Biscay, which are still largely manually processed in their small factories.

Bonito tuna are smallish tuna, generally weighing less than 20kg with pale colour flesh and a delicate flavour that is at its best when eaten simply, in a salad for example.

We stock the Ortiz Bonito Tuna in Olive Oil Tins, 112g and 250g, and the Organic Ortiz Bonito in Olive Oil Jar 220g.

We also stock Ortiz Sardines a la Antigua Tin 140g, Ortiz Anchovy Fillets, Tin 47.5g and Jar 95g, and Ortiz Marmitako Fisherman's Stew 300g.

Our cheese of the week is Shropshire Blue from @colstonbassettdairy. The cheese is recognisable due to its distinctive orange body with blue veining, a natural deep orange brown rind. Like Stilton it has a creamy taste and smooth texture with no bitterness or sharpness, but it is slightly milder in flavour and delicately sweet.
